Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thammathip Piumsomboon

School of Product Design, University of Canterbury, New Zealand

Dr. Thammathip Piumsomboon is an Associate Professor at the School of Product Design, University of Canterbury, New Zealand, where he leads the QUADRIC Lab. His research spans Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Extended Reality (XR), and Human–AI Interaction, with notable contributions to multimodal interaction in AR, empathic computing, and collaboration in mixed reality. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Canterbury in 2015, supervised by Prof. Mark Billinghurst. He has published in leading venues such as ACM CHI, IEEE ISMAR, IEEE VR, and ACM VRST, and has served on their conference committees. His work applies immersive technologies and AI agents to enhance collaboration, communication, and wellbeing.

Prof. Dr. Siti Zaiton Mohd Hashim

Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia

Prof. Dr. Siti Zaiton binti Mohd Hashim is an academic at the Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor Bahru, recently elevated to full Professor. Her research expertise centers on soft computing and data science. She is a prolific and well-cited researcher with a long publication record covering applications as varied as device-to-device (D2D) and 5G communication networks, route guidance and reinforcement learning, medical disease diagnosis and blood-smear/leukemia image analysis, hand-gesture recognition, kinship verification, and more recently deep learning and edge computing for agriculture. She supervises postgraduate researchers, is active in UTM’s research culture, and has affiliations linked to UTM’s Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data.
