Master of Cyber Security
PROGRAMME SPECIFICATION
The Master of Cyber Security is a master by coursework offered on a full-time basis (on-campus or Open Distance Learning). The on-campus study is conducted physically at UTM main campus in Johor Bahru. While the Open Distance Learning (ODL) study is conducted fully online. Student intakes are available for February and September every year. The duration of study for this programme is 3 semesters (1.5 years) and the total number of credits for graduation is 45. It has been accredited by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) based on the current Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF).
This programme bridges the gap between those cyber security aspects with the industry requirements. The aim of this programme is to support the global need in producing professional, dedicated and ethical cyber security experts who will effectively plan, design, manage and practice reliable cyber security mechanisms and technologies. The programme is benchmarked against cyber security professional certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), Cisco Certified CyberOps Professional, CPT (Certified Penetration Tester), CSAP (Certified Secure Application Professional), CDSP (Certified Data Security Professional), CHFI (Computer Hacking and Forensic Investigation) and Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK).

To graduate, students must achieve a total minimum of 45 credits hours with a minimum CPA of 3.0 including the completion of Master Project.
