Assoc. Prof. Dr Siti Zaiton Mohd Hashim received the gold medal on behalf of Dr Ajune Wanis with the team.
On 6th and 7th March 2023, The Industrial Art & Technology Exhibition, commonly known as INATEX was convened on at Dewan Sultan Iskandar, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). INATEX is also a platform for UTM researchers to market their research outputs at a higher level and to collaborate with industry to build a worldwide network of intellectual partners while exhibiting UTM inventions and innovations. INATEX also acts as a competition for products developed by UTM researchers. There are more than 40 UTM researchers has participated in the competition.
During the exhibition, Holoprofessor was showcased by Dr. Ajune Wanis Ismail and her team. Holoprofessor enable remote communications between users while maintaining the immersive experience within real-time interaction. Holoprofessor allow the user to be displayed in three-dimensional (3D) as if they are in the real environment. There are several categories for the competition. Holoprofessor falls under Information Communication Technology and Multimedia category. In recognition of their achievement, the Holoprofessor was presented with the gold medal at INATEX 2022.

“Holoprofessor is to assist distant learners not to replace – it allows our lecturers to deliver their lectures without limits far-off country, whether or time difference.” said Dr. Ajune.
“Impactful to education when a remote teaching and learning requires, no need to commute from one place, not only save time but also save money. More flexible and accessible. More cost-effective.” Dr Ajune further explained.

When asked about the advice for other aspiring competitors or creatives who are looking to improve their craft, Dr Ajune said, “I got no advice to innovative people, they do no need it as they have a very special mindset that not all people have. Innovative people compete to no one. They run their own race to improve. It is nice to have aspiring competitors because it pushes you to do better. Yes, people can copy your work, but not your passion. You should learn from your competitors to improve better.”
It is worth to note that, innovation is a dynamic and ever-evolving process, and learning from others is crucial to stay ahead of the curve. While it is beneficial to have aspiring competitors, innovation is a personal journey that requires self-motivation and perseverance.
