17 January 2026 – The Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer (PERSAKA), Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) successfully organized the Create Code Connect (CCC’25) program at the N28 building. This initiative was specifically designed to bolster the academic performance of first-year students and foster a collaborative learning environment through peer-to-peer mentorship.
A Peer-Led Academic Revolution

The core mission of CCC’25 was to provide targeted assistance for the Programming Technique 1 (C++) Subject. Recognizing that the transition to university-level coding can be daunting, the program utilized a peer-to-peer mentorship model. By pairing 41 first-year students with senior “mentors”, the initiative transformed the traditional classroom experience into an interactive workshop.
During the Intensive Mentoring Sessions, mentors shared not only technical knowledge but also “survival tips” for the upcoming final examinations. These sessions focused on debugging logic, mastering syntax, and understanding the core principles of C++ that are essential for future success in the computing field.
Beyond the Screen: Strengthening Social Bonds
While the morning was dedicated to rigorous coding, the afternoon transitioned into the “Explore Race” and interactive Quizizz sessions. These activities were designed to break the ice and build a sense of community within the faculty.

The “Explore Race” encouraged students to solve logic puzzles and complete team-based challenges across the N28A complex. According to Program Director Nur Faatihah Binti Mohamad Fuad, the goal was to ensure that students didn’t just leave with better coding skills, but also with a support network of friends and seniors they could rely on throughout their academic journey.
Aligning with Global Excellence
CCC’25 was carefully curated to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By fostering an inclusive environment where students of all backgrounds could seek help, PERSAKA demonstrated its commitment to UTM’s vision of producing well-rounded, socially conscious graduates.
The program was managed by a dedicated team of 21 crew members who oversaw everything from logistics to multimedia content. Despite minor challenges in registration and scheduling, the committee’s swift problem-solving ensured a seamless experience for all 41 attendees.

As the event wrapped up at 4:00 PM, the atmosphere was one of accomplishment. Participants left with refreshed confidence in their technical abilities, while the PERSAKA committee proved once again their capability in organizing high-impact student activities.
With the success of CCC’25, the Faculty of Computing reinforces its position as a center of academic excellence that prioritizes student welfare and peer-led growth, setting a high standard for future student-led initiatives at UTM.
