The Research, Innovation & Development Office, Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), is committed to advancing the frontiers of knowledge through impactful research, innovative discovery, and sustainable development.Our focus lies in strengthening five key pillars of academic excellence: Research Grants, Publications, Innovation, Commercialization, and Research Lab Development.
We continuously encourage our researchers to secure competitive research grants that support ground-breaking studies and address national as well as global challenges. We also emphasize the importance of high-quality publications in reputable journals, showcasing the faculty’s scholarly achievements to the world. In the spirit of innovation, the Faculty of Computing fosters creative thinking and problem-solving that lead to new technologies and digital solutions. We actively promote commercialization of research outcomes, turning academic discoveries into market-ready products and services that bring tangible benefits to society.
To support these efforts, we prioritize continuous research lab development, ensuring our facilities remain state-of-the-art and conducive to collaborative, interdisciplinary work that drives excellence in computing research.
