We offer 4 programmes for Direct Entry students:

We accept applicants to both semesters yearly. Please refer to UTM Admission for further info.
(1) SEPTEMBER INTAKE (SEMESTER I)
- Application must be made via UPU Online.
- Announcement of admission for Degree Programme is usually open from February to April through UPU official portal http://upu.moe.gov.my
(2) SEPTEMBER INTAKE (SEMESTER I) FOR FINAL YEAR UTM DIPLOMA
- Application must be applied via online which usually opens in March.
- The Application must be submited to Student Recruitment & Admission Division (SRAD) before or on mid April.
(3) FEBRUARY INTAKE (SEMESTER II)
- Application must be submitted via online.
- The application is usually open from mid November to end December.
At SC, you are more than test scores and a GPA, but we know you’re curious about the numbers anyway.
We’ve also accepted students from: Bandung State Polytechnic in Indonesia, German-Malaysian Insitute, Kolej Universiti Agrosains Malaysia (UCAM), Sunway University, UniMAP, UNITEN, Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah and UTHM.

STEP 1:
Contact Ms. Marina, the Direct Entry Coordinator. Fill out the Student Particular form.
STEP 2:
Join the New Direct Entry Students Whatsapp Group.
STEP 3:
It is recommended that pre-approval be obtained for planned transfer credit in order to ensure that coursework completed will be transferrable. As soon as you have been accepted, you may request transfer credit pre-approval for courses on the Transfer Credit Evaluation eForm.
You need to submit the following documents:
- Your certified academic transcripts.
- Your certified MUET results.
- Course Outline (exempted for UTMKL or UTM Franchise). Please refer in Transfer Credit Procedure to find out what information we are looking for.
STEP 4:
Make sure you received pre-arrival Study Plan and New Semester Timetable from Ms. Marina. The Study Plan will be finalized after you have received your Transfer Exam results.
STEP 5:

- Peraturan Akademik Program Sarjana Muda Pengajian Sepenuh Masa Edisi ke 15 (Rujuk Bahagian IV dan V)
“Kemasukan Terus” bermaksud pelajar yang boleh dipertimbangkan mendapat pengecualian kredit dan diterima masuk ke semester yang bersesuaian berdasarkan kepada kelayakan terdahulu.
“Pengecualian Kredit” (Credit Exemption – CE) merupakan kredit yang diberi pengecualian (Kredit Kecuali) semasa proses permohonan masuk ke sesuatu program pengajian berdasarkan pencapaian dalam kursus berkaitan. Ia merupakan pengecualian kepada sebahagian daripada keperluan kredit untuk pengijazahan yang diberi berdasarkan kelayakan sedia ada (diploma, ijazah atau pengalaman) yang diiktiraf oleh kerajaan.
- Permohonan Pengecualian Kredit hendaklah dibuat kepada fakulti pelajar dan urusan permohonan hendaklah diselesaikan dalam minggu KETIGA (3) semester pertama pengajian.
- Kursus yang diberikan Kredit Kecuali dan Kredit Pindah hendaklah setara dengan kurikulum program pengajian Universiti dari segi pengiraan beban akademik dan nilai kredit. Jumlah isi kandungan hendaklah sama atau tidak kurang daripada 80% daripada kandungan kursus berkaitan di Universiti.
- Bermula tahun 2020, pindahan kredit untuk kelayakan Diploma (Tahap 4, MQF) ke Sarjana Muda (Tahap 6,MQF) secara vertical dengan pindahan maksimum sebanyak 50% daripada jumlah kredit program.
- Permohonan Pengecualian Kredit dan Perpindahan Kredit hendaklah dibuat dengan menggunakan Borang Perpindahan Kredit Mata Pelajaran UTM.E/3-8.
- Kelulusan untuk Pengecualian Kredit dan Perpindahan Kredit akan diberi oleh Fakulti yang menawarkan kursus.
- Bagi pelajar kemasukan terus, tempoh maksimum pengajian ditetapkan oleh fakulti berdasarkan kepada jumlah pengecualian kredit yang diluluskan. Pengiraan tempoh maksimum mengikut jumlah pengecualian kredit seperti berikut:

To apply for exemption, please follow these steps.
STEP 1: Discuss with Ms Marina. Bring along the following documents:
- your academic transcripts together with the grading system
- your MUET or other English profiency exam results.
- evidence of completion i.e. awards and certificates
- your previous course outline and course details
- verifiable documentation of previous work experience from your employer/s.
Here are some of the things we look for when reviewing a course outline:
- Name of institution
- Number of credits the course is worth
- A course description
- Any required pre or co-requisite courses
- Weekly topics covered (not just course objectives/schedule)
- Grading criteria: what was graded and how much was it worth
- How many exams, paper assignments, textbooks or readings are required
- Textbook(s) used with chapters/sections/topics covered (course content)
- Information about any reading besides the textbooks
- Presence of a lab component: what kind of labs and how much does it counts
STEP 2: Fill out the Transfer Credit Form. Please use separate form for different school/faculty that offered those courses.
STEP 3: Get Ms Marina’s signature and submit the form to Ms Azmaniza at the Academic Office.
Processing times
- If your request is straightforward, we normally assess applications for credit transfer within 2 weeks.
- A longer period may be needed if a full assessment is required, especially if you are the first student enrolled in SC from your diploma institution.
- You may check your transfer credit slip in your Student Portal after 2 weeks of submission. If there is any mistake, please immediately inform Ms Azmaniza for correction.
- If your credit transfer application has not been processed after 2 weeks, please follow-up with Ms Azmaniza.

Note:
1 – Grade is according to UTM scale.
2 – Industrial training during diploma is NOT QUALIFIED for exemption.
3 – The labs must use real devices and student must pass CCNA1 & CCNA2 and/or CCNA3 in Cisco Networking Academy.
Transfer Credit Exams
- These courses has special TRANSER CREDIT EXAMS before you are granted the exemption.
- You must get minimum grade of B in your diploma course to sit for the exams.
- Passing marks for the transfer exams varies. Please refer to the individual PIC for further info.
