Welcome to Department of Emergent Computing

We cover the area to cutting-edge and developing areas within the broader field of computing that are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with technology. These niche areas often involve innovative approaches, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the potential to significantly impact various industries and aspects of society.

Ambient computing involves the seamless integration of computing into everyday environments, making it an innovative approach to how we interact with technology. This integration leverages advancements in various emergent computing technologies to create environments that are aware, responsive, and adaptive to human presence and actions.

SECVH Programme

The Bachelor of Computer Science (Graphics and Multimedia Software) with Honours is offered on a full-time basis. The full-time program is offered only at the UTM Main Campus in Johor Bahru.

Emergent computing often focuses on creating systems that are personalized and adaptable. Ambient computing environments tailor their responses and functionalities based on user preferences, behaviors, and real-time data, exemplifying this focus on personalization and adaptability.

Digital experience and interactive technologies are crucial components in the realm of emergent computing, where novel computing paradigms are leveraged to create immersive, efficient, and transformative user experiences. Here are some niche areas that illustrate the intersection of digital experience, interactive technologies, and emergent computing. 1) Ambient Computing 2) Cognitive Technologies and 3) Digital Experience + Interactive Technologies

These niche areas illustrate how emergent computing technologies are reshaping the digital experience and enabling more interactive, immersive, and intuitive interactions with technology. As these technologies continue to evolve, they will further integrate into various aspects of daily life, creating new opportunities and transforming how we interact with the digital world.
