15 November, 2024 – The Faculty of Computing has announced that its Master of Cyber Security programme, offered through Open Distance Learning (ODL), has completed Full Accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) this year. As the first Master of Cyber Security programme in Malaysia offered in ODL mode starting in March 2023, it is uniquely designed to support working professionals looking to upskill in the rapidly growing cyber security field. The programme, currently has 106 students from both local and international backgrounds, caters to those with diverse professional experiences, many of whom are not originally from cyber security roles. The international student base hails from countries such as India, Somalia, Libya, Singapore, and Egypt, indicating a global interest in Malaysia’s only ODL-based cyber security master’s degree. The programme’s first batch of graduates is set to be honored at the 68th Convocation Ceremony, marking a milestone for the university and its students alike. As the demand for skilled cyber security professionals grows both locally and globally, this fully accredited programme aims to meet the pressing need for qualified experts who can secure digital infrastructures in an increasingly complex landscape.
